Quarantine Guidance for International Travelers

Georgia State recommends that all students arriving to campus following international travel follow the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) current guidance. It includes getting tested with a viral test 3-5 days after travel (check online for information about free campus testing sites) and self-monitoring for COVID-19 symptoms. If you are unvaccinated for COVID-19, the CDC also recommends you self-quarantine for a full 7 days after travel. Please note that international travelers are considered fully vaccinated after receiving either FDA or WHO-approved vaccines.

This guidance should be followed by students planning to live in either on-campus housing or private housing located off-campus.

For students with on-campus housing assignments, please contact University Housing at housing@gsu.edu to receive guidance and assistance. Off-campus residents should plan to quarantine in their off-campus housing.

If you need information about how to quarantine, please follow the GDPH guidance or contact the GSU Case Investigators at caseinvestigation@gsu.edu with questions.

Your quarantine period may overlap with the beginning of academic courses (Aug. 23). Please contact Student Assistance in the Office of the Dean of Students at deanofstudents@gsu.edu for assistance with contacting and coordinating accommodations with your faculty and/or campus employer.

International students with questions related to immigration travel concerns can contact International Student & Scholar Services at isss@gsu.edu.

Vaccinations: If you plan to get vaccinated once you come out of quarantine,  vaccinations will continue to be available. You can make an appointment one of three ways: go to https://ahead.gsu.edu/covid-19-resources/covid-19-vaccine/, use the Student Patient Portal at https://gsu.medicatconnect.com/, or call the clinic at 404-413-1930.
