iStart for Scholars

iStart is Georgia State University’s web portal to immigration services, requests and benefits for our international student, scholar, and employee community. iStart is a comprehensive international data management tool with many benefits. Georgia State implemented iStart in March 2015.

All new and returning Georgia State international students and scholars will use iStart. Once you have been officially accepted to Georgia State, use iStart to request immigration documents (I-20 or DS-2019) and many other services and benefits of your visa category.

Current SCHOLARS and RESEARCHERS

In order to access e-Forms related to your J-1, H-1B, O-1, TN, or permanent residency petition, please login at istart.gsu.edu under “Don’t Have a Network ID?” at the bottom of the screen.  You will need your TEMP ID, which should be TEMP followed by six (6) digits (e.g. TEMP123456).  This TEMP ID will be substituted for your University Identification Number.

From the login page, you may request your PIN number.  Upon request, your PIN number will be e-mailed to your e-mail address on file.  You will use your TEMP ID, your Date of Birth, and your Limited Access PIN to login. Most J-1 Scholars will have this number emailed to them when your DS-2019 is issued.

Any e-Forms available to J-1 scholars will be available under the J-1 Scholar Services tab.

For questions or problems using iStart, please contact ISSS at isss@gsu.edu or 404-413-2070.
